Semex is looking for a highly qualified candidate to join their R&D team to develop new antibodies. The candidate must have experience in antibodies research, for example:

  • Antibody discovery work
  • Antibody binding assays
  • Functional Antibody research
  • Antibody binding or conjugation work (microparticles, assays on beads)
  • Antibody quantification work
  • Research on cell separation methods with antibodies

The candidate may be a PhD student with the interest of pursuing a 2-year industrial postdoc or a young professional with research experience in the field who would like to know more about applied research with industry.

Place: Semex/Boviteq research laboratories in St-Hyacinthe, Québec, Canada.
Start date: Immediatly

11th CRRF WiP

The 11th CRRF WiP will be held on Tuesday December 3 at 1pm at the Faculty of veterinary medicine in St-Hyacinthe. While researchers attend the Members Assembly, students and lab staff will have a presentation by Dr. Maajid Hassam Bhat, a postdoctoral fellow at SEMEX in St-Hyacinthe, entitled: Cryopreservation: survival of the frozen.

Students who will then present are  Nicolas Barbeau-Grégoire (Jocelyn Dubuc), Karla Elena Herrera-Hidalgo (Mouhamadou Diaw), Lia Paim (Greg FitzHarris), Esdras Corrêa dos Santos (Gustavo Zamberlam) and Loïze Maréchal (André Tremblay).

Dr. Greg FitzHarris (Director of CRRF) and his team at CRCHUM have recently published a study in Nature Communications on the mechanism likely responsible for the low pregnancy success rate in some fertility clinics.

CRRF Bourses d’excellence

Congratulations to Nour Abou Nader, from Boyer’s lab, and to Virginie Gaudreault, from Girard’s lab, who have been awarded the 5,000 $ scholarship of the CRRF Bourses d’excellence competition.

This competition was addressed to CRRF students at any career stage. It aims to reward excellent trainees, and help them to develop their CVs for larger extra-mural fellowships and awards. Whilst all trainees are entitled to apply, preference will be given to candidates who have not yet been awarded a full salary/fellowship (eg FRQS, NSERC, CIHR), but who plan to do so in the future.

CHIR grant – Dr. Bruce D. Murphy

Congratulations to Dr. Bruce D. Murphy for obtaining a major CIHR grant of $ 940,950 in the Spring 2019 competition. With this grant, Dr. Murphy and his team will study the role of orphan nuclear receptors in woman infertility, including receptors known as Sf-1 and Lrh-1. The results of this study will provide the needed datas to develop precision reproductive medicine techniques and targeted therapeutic treatments.
